I think it's an authorization problem. The problem seems to be in the xps printer in fact no matter what are the permission of the folder I'm trying to save in I grant to Users Group full control. It may be worth a shot There seem to be more and more reports of people having problems with permissions and registry problems with Windows 7. Open up regedit and check the permissions of your keys. You can semi-fix the problem with the utility called subinacl.

I started this thread about a week ago. I was just curious if anyone has any insight on why, after restoring my PC to the factory image, I can print to an XPS file but then a few days later get the permission denied error for ANY folder I try to save it to? I can't hazard a guess, but if I was experiencing what you are describing, on my system, I would try the Procmon route, and check for unexpected results, odd or unexpected paths, or other oddities.
